In the garden, it is fun to create beauty with found and recycled goods.  It is cool, it is hip, and it shows love for the earth.  Yes, there is an irregularity and lack of uniformity.  Yes, some materials are strange and difficult to work with.  Yes, it is a challenge for the mind – for the beholder as well as for the maker!  The best part of this awareness is ancient singing forests, clear rivers of stoneflies and catfish, sandy gravel beaches of rainbow pebbles, and people enjoying and partaking in nature’s exuberance.

In 2008, students installed a vignette for the San Francisco Flower and Garden Show at the Cow Palace.  It showcased recycled containers of various sorts.  We started with vision and a plan:
